Offensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Treanor, Siena
Sr., Attack, 5-7, Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna
Treanor led the Saints with nine points and nine groundballs in a 2-0 week. Treanor scored all of her career-high seven points (four goals, three assists) in the first half of Siena’s 18-1 rout of UMass Lowell Wednesday. She added five groundballs in the win as the Saints posted both their largest margin of victory and fewest goals allowed in the program’s 19 seasons. Treanor added two more goals and four groundballs Saturday, as the Saints picked up their first-ever road win at St. Bonaventure, 12-11.
Defensive Player of the Week
Tori Quinn, Canisius
Sr., Attack, 5-3, Orangeville, Ontario/Orangeville
Senior Tori Quinn had a strong week both on the offensive and defensive end for the Griffs, helping lead the Blue and Gold to their first victory of the 2015 season against St. Bonaventure on Tuesday and putting up strong numbers against nationally ranked Ohio State on Saturday. Quinn, who had six goals and two assists offensively, also had strong defensive numbers recording two caused turnovers, two ground balls and three draw controls against Ohio State. Quinn also recorded three ground balls, one draw control and two caused turnovers in the team’s victory against St. Bonaventure on Tuesday.
Rookie of the Week
Erica Evans, Canisius
Fr., Midfield, 5-8, Peterborough, Ontario/St Peter’s Secondary
Freshman Erica Evans continued her strong freshman season for the Griffs this week, helping lead the team to a victory over St. Bonaventure and also putting up strong numbers against nationally ranked Ohio State on Saturday. Evans had three goals, one assist, one ground ball and three caused turnovers against St. Bonaventure and against Ohio State the midfielder recorded another multi-goal game, scoring four and recording three draw-controls against the Buckeyes.
