Offensive Player of the Week
Lexi Brannigan, Marist
Sr., Midfield, 5-6, Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central
Brannigan led the Red Foxes with seven goals and nine points in two road victories this week. In a 12-11 win at Columbia on Feb. 25, she netted a career-high four goals in a span of 8:15 in the second half. Eight of her nine shots were on goal and she won two draw controls. On Feb. 28 at Vermont, Brannigan had a hat trick and two assists for five points while winning three draw controls in an 11-10 Marist victory. She finished the week with 69 percent (11-16) of her shots coming on goal. She scored on five of her six free position shots and finished second on the team by winning five draw controls this week.
Defensive Player of the Week
Katie Donohoe, Monmouth
Sr., GK, 5-8, Peterborough, Ontario/Holy Cross Catholic Seminary
Donohoe had her best outing of the year against preseason ranked Towson, making 11 saves against the Tigers. The senior made a number of key second half stops as Monmouth led Towson late in the second half, before ultimately falling 4-3 to the Tigers. In addition to season-best 11 saves, Donohoe also corralled three ground balls. In Monmouth’s historic program win against Rutgers earlier in the week, the Peterborough, Ontario native made five saves. Heading in to the week, Donohoe backstopped the Hawks to the top goals against average in the country at 2.50 GAA, as Monmouth is off to a 3-1 start, the best since the 2000 season.
Rookie of the Week
Emma Hager, Iona
Fr., Midfield, 6-0, Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley
Freshman Emma Hager registered four goals and five draw controls over two contests for the Gaels. Hager scored four goals on five shots in a victory over UMass Lowell on Feb. 25. On Feb. 27, she grabbed five controls against Brown.
