EDISON, N.J. – No. 12 Quinnipiac University fell to No. 5 Oklahoma University 111-84 in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.  Quinnipiac represented the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in women’s basketball NCAA Tournament as the league’s automatic bid.

Trailing the Sooners for the entire contest, Quinnipiac was unable to keep Oklahoma in check. Senior guard Jasmine Martin, the 2015 MAAC Championship Team MVP, scored 24 points and added five rebounds in the contest. Senior guard Gillian Abshire also added 12 points for the Bobcats whose 21-game winning streak snapped this afternoon.

Quinnipiac finishes the season 31-4 and made their way to the NCAA Tournament after defeating nine-time defending champion Marist College, 72-61, in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Basketball Championships to earn the Bobcats first MAAC title and became just the sixth team in the 35-year history of MAAC women's basketball to complete an undefeated season in league play as Quinnipiac went 23-0 against conference opponents in 2014-15.

The MAAC will host the NCAA Women's Basketball Sweet Sixteen Albany Regional at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. Tickets can be purchased here.
