Offensive Player of the Week
Ryan Keenan, Quinnipiac
Jr., Attack, 5-11, Oshawa, Ontario/The Hill Academy
Ryan Keenan netted his fourth career four-goal game on Saturday, helping Quinnipiac pick up its first MAAC win of the season. Keenan finished with four goals and added an assist in the Bobcats’ 13-12 win over Detroit Mercy in Hamden. He scored twice in the first quarter, completed the hat trick late in the second quarter, and tallied his fourth goal in the third frame. His five points were a season high for the junior, also picking up a ground ball and his team-leading fourth man-up goal of the year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Garrett Conaway, Monmouth
Sr., Goalkeeper, 6-0, Marriottsville, Md./Liberty
Conaway went 2-0 on the week for the Hawks, allowing just seven goals in the two victories. Conaway, who added a ground ball in each game, as well as a caused turnover at NJIT, faced 50 shots, making 16 total saves (.696 save %). Conaway, who started both games, surrendered the seven scores for a 3.57 goals against average on the week. The senior made three saves in a 6-3 win at NJIT on Tuesday and followed it up with a 13 save performance in a 5-4 victory over defending MAAC champion Siena on Saturday, while facing 34 shots.
Rookie of the Week
Brian Feldman, Quinnipiac
Fr., Attack, 6-1, Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy
Brian Feldman scored his second career hat trick on Saturday afternoon, aiding a potent Quinnipiac attack in a 13-12 victory over Detroit Mercy. Feldman opened the scoring summary just 46 seconds into the game, and then added two goals in the third quarter to help Quinnipiac pull away. He added three ground balls and became the second QU player to reach double digits in the scoring column. He has 11 goals and two assists this year.
