Lundgren, Conrath and Schultz Earn MAAC Water Polo Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. - Jess Lundgren of Wagner College, Julie Conrath of Villanova University, and Hannah Schultz of Iona are the MAAC Water Polo Weekly Award winners.
Junior center Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Australia/ Mountain Creek) totaled an impressive 23 points on the last weekend of MAAC play as she rattled the cage for 14 scores while passing out nine helpers. The ever aggressive Lundgren’s weekend was highlighted by her five goal and two assist effort in the Seahawks 23-8 win over VMI.
Conrath had 25 saves on the weekend, including 8 vs. Siena (April 12) and 17 vs. Iona (April 12). Also had two assist and two steals in her 2-0 weekend. She had a goals against average of 8.0.
Freshman Hannah Schultz recorded 18 goals over four contest for the Maroon & Gold. Schultz opened the weekend with seven goals in the 16-8 St. Francis win. Later in the day she added six goals and drew one kickout when the Gaels took the 17-11 win over the Virginia Military Institute. Sunday, Iona was on the road to take on Wagner and Villanova. In the drop of both games Schultz pulled a goal in the Wagner contest, and four in the Villanova match-up. The Gaels ended their regular season as the number three seed in the MAAC.
The 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship will be held on April 25-26 at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, New York.
