LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL. – The Saint Peter’s men and Albany women maintained their first place standing following the second round of the 2015 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Golf Championship at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, on Saturday, April 25.

The Peacocks shot a 293 on Saturday to bring their two-round total to 581. With one day of action remaining, Saint Peter’s owns a 17-stroke advantage over second place Iona.

The Gaels moved into second after carding a 302 to bring their total score to 598. Fairfield University also moved up and finds itself in third place with a two-day total of 601. Monmouth remains in the hunt with Iona and Fairfield as it is just one shot behind the Stags at 602, which is good for fourth.

Remaining at the top of the player leaderboard on the men’s side is Saint Peter’s Brian Grubbs, who is three under par at 141 after shooting a 73 in the second round. Fellow Peacock Nicholas Dilio jumped up eight spots to second place (142) after going four under par to lead all golfers on the day.

Fairfield’s Steve Burak is currently in third with a two-round score of 143, followed by Manhattan’s Ryan Lynch and Siena’s Scott Kim, who are tied for fourth with scores of 145 each.

On the women’s side, the Albany Great Danes were able to hold onto first, totaling a score of 320 in the second round for an overall score of 623. The defending conference champions, Siena, however recorded the best team score of the day (310) to move up three spots into second. Quinnipiac also posted a notable performance in the second round (316) to head into the final round in third place.

Individually, Quinnipiac’s Nicole Scola and Fairfield’s Emma Ritzman are tied for the top spot after posting identical second round scores of 74. Both Scola and Ritzman also carded a 76 on the first day to bring their league-leading two-day total to 150.

Just one stroke behind the duo in a tie for second are Siena’s Kristen Bromley and Albany’s Annie Lee (151). Both the Saints and the Great Danes have three players each in the top-10 of the player leaderboard.  

The third and final round of the 2015 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Golf Championship is slated for 7:30am tomorrow. Fans can follow the men’s and women’s action live via Golfstat. Full pairings and tee times can be found here – men’s | women’s.
