Rodriguez, Delucchi, and Clark Earn Water Polo Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. - Megan Rodriguez of Wagner College, Dana Delucchi of Iona College, and Dominique Clark of Villanova University are the MAAC Water Polo Weekly Award winners.
Junior attacker Megan Rodriguez (Danville, CA/ San Ramon Valley) was a dominating force in the Seahawks two weekend victories. The California native combined for seven goals and seven assists in the Green & White’s 15-7 win over Villanova and the team’s 20-4 victory over Siena. The lefty specialist was all over the pool as she was both a distributor and finisher on the weekend.
Junior goalie Delucchi tallied 36 saves covering the net over three contest. Iona topped St. Francis on Thursday, Apr. 2, 11-8. Over the holiday weekend, Delucchi pulled eleven saves for the match-up. Coach Brian Kelly commented, "credit Dana Delucchi with keeping us in the lead. We were really shorthanded that night missing key players.” For their 9-6 win over Siena, Delucchi had ten saves and in the 10-9 defeat vs. Marist in sudden death overtime, she recorded 15 saves.
Clark tallied five goals on the weekend as the Wildcats went 1-1. She had an assist and a steal vs. Wagner on April 4. Against St. Francis she had five goals, an assist and three steals in the 19-7 win.
The 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship will be held on April 25-26 at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, New York.
