NCAA Releases 2014-15 Men's Basketball Division I Attendance Numbers

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The NCAA released the attendance from the 2014-15 Division I men’s basketball season.
In Division I, attendance totaled 27,422,615 for the year. Although it was down slightly from a season ago, the attendance is the ninth highest total in history. However, the NCAA tournament total attendance increased. The tournament earned its third‐highest attendance in history with 739,798 fans. The record‐setting total of 800,377 came in 2012‐13.
Compared to last year, 480 more fans attended games, making this past season the eighth highest attendance in NCAA history. The record of 33,396,316 fans in a single season was set in 2007‐08.
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) ranked 21st amongst all other Division I conferences and seen a plus 79 increase in average attendance which also included the basketball championship at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY.
Siena College led the MAAC and ranked 82nd nationally with an average of 6,242 attendees in its 16 home contest during the season. Iona College ranked 17th nationally after seeing a 1,286 average attendee increase from a season ago.
