Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Taylor Kugler, Canisius

So., F, 5-6, Massapequa, NY/Massapequa

Taylor Kugler made a large impact in Canisius’ season opening 16-1 record win over Hampton University on Friday. The sophomore forward scored three goals for a hat trick and added two assists in the win. Kugler’s first career goal came 9:36 into the contest when she scored from the right side, putting the Griffs up 1-0. She would add her second goal at the 21:33 mark and her final goal came in the second half at the 60:07 mark. The 16 goals in the win broke the school’s previous record for goals (12) and the total goal margin (11).   

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Sydney Lavan, Monmouth

Jr., GK, 5-8, Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial

Goalkeeper Sydney Lavan helped lead Monmouth to a 1-0 victory over Marshall, posting her first career shutout. In her first career start, the junior and Monmouth faced 12 shots, with Lavan making six saves.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Kourtney Cunningham, Rider 

Fr., M/F, 5-3, Whitehall, PA/Whitehall

In a 3-2 win at Mount St. Mary’s Kourtney Cunningham opened up her collegiate career with a four point performance. She scored her first career goal for Rider 10 minutes into the game to give the Broncs a 1-0 lead. Cunningham would score again with 15 minutes left in the game, to give Rider a 2-1 lead.
