Wilson Offensive Player of the Week
Nadya Gill, Quinnipiac
Fr., F, 5-2, Toronto, Ontario/Toronto Prep
Gill put up an impressive week for the Bobcats, recording two game-winning goals in her first two career games. She recorded the game-winner against Holy Cross in overtime on Monday, August 24 before scoring the game-winner with 17:03 remaining in the second half on Friday, August 28 at Delaware St. Gill is the first Quinnipiac freshman since Furtuna Velaj in 2008 to score the game-winning goal in her first collegiate game, as well as the first freshman to score a goal and game-winning goal in her first two collegiate games. Gill is also the first Quinnipiac freshman since Jess Fontaine in 2013 to have her first two career goals be game-winners.
Wilson Defensive Player of the Week
Liz Rogan, Siena
Sr., GK, 5-7, Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs
Rogan recorded shutouts in both of the Saints’ matches last week spanning 200 minutes of action and made a total of 17 saves. On Friday night at Cornell, she was clearly the difference in preserving the scoreless tie. The Big Red out-shot the Saints 22-3, but Rogan made a career-high eight saves to keep the score even and record her first collegiate clean sheet. On Sunday, she made a new personal record nine saves to post her second straight shutout in leading Siena to a 2-0 win in the Saints’ home opener over defending America East Champion New Hampshire. Rogan has not allowed a goal over her last 202:31 overall.
Wilson Rookie of the Week
Gabby Albano, Siena
Fr., F, 5-6, Nesconset, NY/Smithtown East
In her only appearance of the week, Albano scored the decisive goal in the Saints’ 2-0 victory over defending America East Champion New Hampshire. The freshman came off the bench to score what would ultimately prove to be the game-winning goal in the 41st minute, ending the Wildcats' 350-minute plus scoreless streak to start the season.
