Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Erica Modena, Manhattan

Jr., M, 5-4, Massapequa, NY/ Massapequa

Modena scored four goals on the week to help lead Manhattan to a pair of shutout victories, highlighted by notching her first career hat trick. The junior midfielder notched her first goal of the week in 4-0 victory at NJIT on September 3. On September 6 at previously unbeaten Lafayette, Modena added her first career hat trick in a 3-0 win. With her four goals, she now has a MAAC-best five on the year after missing most of last season due to injury.

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Nicole Aylmer, Manhattan

So., M/B, 5-7, Garnerville, NY/North Rockland

Nicole Aylmer earned a 3-0, shutout victory over previously unbeaten Lafayette in her first collegiate start in goal. Aylmer made four saves in the victory. She also saw action in goal during Manhattan’s 4-0 win over NJIT on September 3. Aylmer finished the week with just under 94 minutes of scoreless action between the pipes.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Nadya Gill, Quinnipiac

Fr., F, 5-2, Toronto, Ontario/Toronto Prep

The reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week continues to dazzle in her rookie season as she added another game-winning goal this past week, good enough for her third of the season in just four games.  Gill supplied the heroics once again on Sunday as she found the back of the net with less than four minutes remaining to give the Bobcats a 2-1 win over Vermont in the TD Bank Classic. Named to the All-Tournament Team, Gill’s goal was a backbreaker for the Catamounts as UVM had just found the equalizer 1:12 prior to Gill knocking in the game-winner. The rookie forward is the first player in program history to have each of her three first career goals all be game-winners. For the two-game weekend, Gill led all Bobcats with seven shots in 157 minutes of action.
