2016 MAAC Field Hockey Championship Seeding Set
EDISON, NJ – The 2016 MAAC Field Hockey Championship bracket is set and will be held at So Sweet a Cat Field on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The semifinals will be played on Friday, November 4 followed by the Championship game on Sunday, November 6.
Monmouth (6-0) won the MAAC regular season title for the third straight season. In addition, the Hawks have earned the number one overall seed and will serve as the host institution for the Championship.
Monmouth will take on the number four seed Rider University (4-2) on Friday, November 4 at 2:00 pm. The Hawks defeated the Broncs, 3-2 in their lone regular season matchup. Julie Laszlo, Alyssa Ercolino, and Kelly Hanna each tallied goals in the victory for the Hawks.
Fairfield University (5-2) earned the number two seed and will play the number three seed Bryant University (4-2) on Friday, November 4 at 11:00 am. The Stags fell to the Bulldogs, 2-1 in overtime in their regular season meeting. Emily Perryman scored the game-winning goal for Bryant.
The Championship final will be take place on Sunday, November 6 at 11:00 am. All three contests will be broadcasted live on MAAC.TV. Tickets can be purchased in advance at maac.ticketleap.com.
The winner of the 2016 MAAC Field Hockey Championship will receive an automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Field Hockey Championship.
