Player of the Week

Megan O'Sullivan, Fairfield

Sr., Middle Blocker, Phoenix, AZ/Xavier College Prep

Megan O’Sullivan was a force in the middle as Fairfield swept away a pair of MAAC foes to claim its second consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championship. O’Sullivan hit .600 (17-2-25) against visiting Rider and Saint Peter’s, hammering 2.83 kills per set. Defensively, she averaged 1.50 blocks and 1.00 digs per frame. On Saturday against Rider, O’Sullivan had nine kills (.438) with two assists, three digs and two blocks. In the Sunday sweep of Saint Peter’s, she had eight kills on nine errorless swings (.889) with an assist, three digs and seven blocks – including four solo rejections.

Libero of the Week

Kalehua Katagiri, Siena           

Sr., Libero, Kaneohe, HI/Kamehameha

Katagiri continues to lead the MAAC in digs per set. Over a 2-0 weekend for the Saints, she recorded 6.00 digs per set and a total of 42. She had one service ace against Canisius, where she dished out three assists. Katagiri's defense helped Siena have an attack percentage of .300 against Niagara, their second highest percentage of the season. Against Canisius, her 25 digs marked the 12th time this season she has recorded over 20 digs.

Rookie of the Week

Megan Fergus, Marist 

Fr., MB/OH, Millbrook, NY/Millbrook

Fergus averaged 3.17 kills per set as Marist won three matches this week to clinch a spot in the MAAC Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. In a sweep of second place Quinnipiac on Oct. 26, she hammered 10 kills. On October 29, she slammed 13 kills and jumped for three blocks to propel the Red Foxes out of a 2-0 hole to a five-set victory at Niagara. Three of her kills Saturday came in the decisive frame, including one on the final point of the match. Fergus completed the week with a 15-kill performance in a 3-1 win at Canisius on Sunday. She also had her first career service ace, five digs, and a block against the Griffs.
