Megan Yarusso, Manhattan
Sr., Midfielder, 5-2, Brewster, NY/Brewster
Yarusso scored a team-leading four goals, including two of the free-position variety, in Manhattan’s season-opening 14-9 victory over Army West Point. She needed just six shots to notch her four tallies on the evening. Yarusso also forced two turnovers with one ground ball and one forced turnover.
Defensive Player of the Week
Nikki Prestiano, Manhattan
Fr., GK, 5-5, Cortlandt Manor, NY/Yorktown
In her collegiate debut, Prestiano helped lead Manhattan to its first victory of the year. The rookie goalkeeper notched seven saves in the win and also picked up two ground balls. Prestiano yielded just three goals in the decisive first half as the Jaspers jumped out to a five-goal lead at intermission.
