Player of the Week

Maureen Duddy, Marist

Sr., IF, 5-6, San Mateo, CA/Aragon

Duddy hit .368 (7-for-19), went 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts, and added three runs and three RBIs as Marist went 4-1 in the Eastern Michigan Tournament this past weekend. Against UMass Lowell on Feb. 19, Duddy went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored. With two outs in the top of the seventh and no one on base, Duddy reached on a bunt single, stole second, stole third and then scored on a throwing error for the winning run in Marist’s 2-1 triumph. In Marist’s 6-4 win over Eastern Michigan on Feb. 20, Duddy has a two-run single, a stolen base and a run scored after a throwing error in a four-run fourth inning which put the Red Foxes ahead for good. Later that day, she went 2-for-4 with an RBI against Georgia Southern. On Feb. 21, she went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in a 3-2 win over Providence. Later that day, she walked to lead off the game and scored the first run in Marist’s 4-3 triumph over North Florida. She also handled all 28 chances (22 putouts, six assists) without committing an error at first base and third base.

Pitcher of the Week

Stephanie Kristo, Manhattan

Fr., P, 5-7, San Jose, CA/Archbishop Mitty

Kristo went 2-1 in her first three collegiate pitching appearances at the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational.  She earned the win against Villanova on Friday after tossing 6.1 innings of four-hit, shutout relief in Manhattan’s come-from-behind 6-5 eight-inning victory.  Kristo struck out three and walked three in the victory.  She then got the start against George Mason on Saturday and recorded three strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work.  On Sunday against North Florida, Kristo suffered a tough-luck loss.  She allowed three runs on three hits while striking out six over three innings against the Ospreys.  In the three games, Kristo tossed 14.2 innings and registered 12 strikeouts.

Rookie of the Week

Jess Vollmer, Siena

Fr., OF, 5-6, Simi Valley, CA/Royal

Vollmer appeared in every game for the Saints in the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational, batting .429 (3-7) with one RBI, one run scored and two total bases. She started three games for Siena as the team finished with a 2-3 record at the Invitational.
