Player of the Week

Michael Fuhrman, Niagara

Sr., 2B, 5-10, Palmyra, PA/Palmyra Area High School

Michael Fuhrman led Niagara, who competed in the Historic Dodgertown Classic in Vero Beach, FL, in scoring with seven total runs over four games, He went 8-for-14 at the plate and finished the weekend with a .625 on base percentage and .571 batting average. Fuhrman scored two runs in three games (Ohio State and Toledo on Feb. 20, Pitt on Feb. 21). He also had two RBIs on the weekend, with one against Ohio State and one against Toledo.

Shirk batted .455 (5-for-11) with one double, one home run and 6 RBIs in three games vs. Davidson, Air Force and Buffalo. He went 1-for-2 with a home run and one walk in his first career game, a 4-3 loss to Davidson. Shirk batted .500 (2-for-4) with an RBI in a 8-4 loss to Air Force and 2-for-5 with four RBIs in an 8-3 win over Buffalo. He also had a 1.000 fielding percentage with three put outs and three assists
