Mark Anstead, Detroit
So., Attack, 5-11, Potomac, MD/Gonzaga
Anstead led Detroit with nine points and five goals at the Midwest Classic. Tied his career highs in all three categories with six points, three goals and three assists against nationally-ranked Marquette. Started the tournament with two goals and an assist against Bellarmine.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jack Brust, Quinnipiac
Jr., GK, 6-0, Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall
Brust had 12 saves to help lead Quinnipiac to a 9-7 home win over NJIT on Saturday. He had eight of his saves in the second half while allowing only two goals after the game was tied 5-5 at the break, In the fourth quarter he picked up four saves while allowing just one goal when NJIT broke in alone on net in transition.
Rookie of the Week
James Sarrocco, Marist
Fr., Defense, 6-2, Nesconset, NY/Smithtown East
Sarrocco limited High Point’s top point scorer and reigning Southern Conference Player of the Week Michael Leclair to just two points and 1-for-7 shooting in Marist’s road contest Saturday. The point total was Leclair’s lowest of the season. Sarrocco picked up a ground ball and caused a turnover in the contest for the Red Foxes. The Panthers had received votes in last week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Nike Division I Coaches' and Cascade Maverik/Media Polls.
