Offensive Player of the Week

Reilly Hellstein, Fairfield

Jr., M, 5-7, Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam

The junior set career-highs this past week as Fairfield pushed it’s winning streak to three in a row with victories over Sacred Heart and New Hampshire. Against the Pioneers, Hellstein scored six goals and added one assist for seven points on the day. But against the Wildcats, the midfielder was even better notching a career-high seven goals and tallying two assists for nine total points, also a career-high. She leads the team with 25 goals and 28 points through the first six games.

Defensive Player of the Week

Kyle Larkin, Quinnipiac

So., GK, 5-3, Holbrook, NY/Sachem East

Kyle Larkin played what easily stands as the best game of her young career, matching her career-high with 11 saves on 16 shots from Army West Point for a career-best .688 save percentage. The best player on the field throughout the 60-minute defensive grind, Larkin’s five goals allowed stands as a career-low for the sophomore as well as her second career victory. Once the game was tied 5-5 with 17:56 remaining, Larkin denied all four of the Black Knights’ shots-on-goal in the remainder of play as her play on the defensive end allowed Quinnipiac to win a game with just six goals scored for the first time since 2012.

Rookie of the Week

Lily Crager, Fairfield

Fr., M, 5-3, Berwyn, PA/Episcopal Academy

Lily Crager scored the first three goals of her Fairfield career this week as she notched two in the victory against Sacred Heart and one in the win over New Hampshire. Against the Pioneers, she was a perfect two for two with shots and goals, making the most of her opportunities. Then against the Wildcats, she made her first career start and had another efficient day with her one shot finding the back of the net for a Fairfield score. She also tallied two draw controls, one groundball, and one caused turnover in the 16-6 win.
