Dan Swain, Siena

Swain hit .438 with five runs scored and four extra base hits last week for the Saints. He tallied seven hits and four doubles while also walking three times and driving in a pair of runs out of the leadoff spot. Swain recorded hits in all four games including a pair of multi-hit performances in recording a .526 on-base percentage, .688 slugging percentage and a 1.214 OPS. He went 5-12 with three doubles ,reaching base safely seven times in the Saints’ series win over a Quinnipiac squad which was predicted to win the MAAC according to Baseball America and finish second per the conference’s preseason coaches’ poll. Swain came through with a huge clutch performance in the decisive rubber game of the series Sunday, going 3-5 with a pair of doubles, RBI and runs scored and also walked twice in reaching base safely five times in the Saints’ 8-7 victory in 12 innings. Swain delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning and the game-tying run scoring double in the 10th inning before scoring the winning run on a wild pitch as the Saints walked off in the 12th.

In a 4-1 Rider win over perennial NEC contender Sacred Heart, Margevicius struck out a career-high 11, including every batter in the Sacred Heart lineup at least once. He tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just one unearned run, while four hits.
Rookie of the Week
Frankie Gregoire, Marist
Fr., OF, 6-0, Simsbury, CT/Phillips Exeter Academy
Gregoire hit .417 (5-for-12) with a .533 on base percentage to go along with a home run, four RBI and four runs scored in four in a 3-1 week for the Red Foxes. He went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI and two runs scored in a 12-1 win over Niagara on Friday, went 1-for-3 with the game winning RBI and one run scored in a 3-2 comeback win vs the Purple Eagles in Game 1 on Sunday and went 1-for-3 with one run scored in a 7-3 loss to Niagara in Game 2 on Sunday.
