EDISON, NJ – The 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships are set to begin on Friday, April 22 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The nine men’s teams and eight women’s teams will compete in a three-day event held at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.

The men will tee-off from the 10th hole on Friday, starting at 7:30 a.m., and the women will tee-off from the 1st, also at 7:30 a.m.

Live results for all three days of action can be accessed here. The final day of play will be broadcast live on ESPN3 beginning at 10 a.m.

Post-day recaps will be posted following each day of competition on MAAC.TV, and will also be played on Disney’s in-room channel available at various resorts on the Disney property.

Preseason favorite Fairfield University is projected to finish in first on the men’s side, while reigning champion University at Albany is projected to claim the women’s title.

The Stags, who only received one first place vote in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, are led by freshman and two-time golfer of the month, Kevin Duncan. Duncan capped his first two months as a collegiate golfer with two individual victories. His fall was highlighted by individual wins at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship (+2) and the 2015 ECAC Championship (E). More recently, Duncan carded a 74 (+3) at the Monmouth Invitational to share first place of the leaderboard with Monmouth’s Kyle Deisher.

The Great Danes are led by sophomore and reigning champion, Annie Songeun Lee. Lee looks to fight off Siena junior Kristen Bromley who finished four strokes behind her to capture third place in 2015. Two-time golfer of the month and one-time golfer of the week, Lee’s best performance of the spring came at the Lonnie Barton Invitational in Daytona Beach, Florida. She finished second individually with a two-round score of 154 as Albany finished 18 strokes ahead of St. John’s to claim the team title.

The MAAC men's and women's champions will receive automatic bids to the 2016 NCAA Division I Golf Championships.

The 2016 Division I Women’s Golf Championships selections announcement will be televised live via the Golf Channel Monday, April 25 at 6 p.m., while the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships Selections announcement is scheduled for Thursday, May 5 at 9:30 a.m., also live on the Golf Channel.
