LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – The Manhattan men and Quinnipiac women maintained their first place standing following the second round of the 2016 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Golf Championships at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, on Saturday, April 23.

Saint Peter’s senior Nicholas Dilio (142) sits atop the leaderboard at -2. As the only golfer under par, Dilio recorded three birdies on the day. He sits two strokes ahead of Manhattan’s sophomore Ryan Lynch (144) who shaved four strokes off his first round to record a two-under-par 70. However, it is the Siena Saints who placed the most men in the top-10. Junior Scott Kim (148) sits in sixth place while sophomore Michael Christifulli (150) and senior Michael Shine (150) sit tied at seventh.

Manhattan finished the day in first place with a score of +24 (600), while second place through sixth place find themselves within one stroke of each other. Fairfield (+29) finished in second place behind Manhattan at 605 followed by Siena (+30), Saint Peter’s (+31), Canisius (+32), Rider (+33), and Iona (+34).

The women’s individual leaderboard saw several lead changes between Quinnipiac’s Julia Kemmling and Luciana Tobia and Siena’s Kristen Bromley. Freshman Julia Kemmling (149) finished the round in sole possession of first place after carding two birdies on the final two holes. Freshman Luciana Tobia (150) and junior Kristen Bromley (150), only one stroke behind Kemmling, stand tied for second place. Quinnipiac junior Nicole Scola (158) was the third Bobcat to finish in the top-ten after jumping eight places on the leaderboard. She stands tied for sixth place after shaving six strokes off her first round 82.

Quinnipiac (+40) extended their lead over second place Monmouth (+59) to lead the Hawks by 19 strokes while Siena (+70) surged past Dayton (+72) and Hartford (+79) to move up two places on the team leaderboard.

Third round action picks up tomorrow at 7:30am. Once again, the men will tee off from the 10th hole, while the women will tee off from the 1st.
