Player of the Week

Mac Crispino, Fairfield

Jr., OF, 5-11, Avon, CT/Northwest Catholic

Crispino was the clutch performer for the Stags this week, hitting an even .500 (7-for-14) with six big RBI in Fairfield's 3-1 week. Crispino started his clutch performance in Fairfield's final mid-week game, launching a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh that turned a one-run deficit into a one-run victory. In the biggest game of the season, Crispino added the first three RBI for the Stags in their finale against Quinnipiac. Crispino tied the game with a RBI single early in the game, and then came up clutch again in the bottom of the eighth with a game tying two-run single.

Pitcher of the Week

Gavin Wallace, Fairfield

So., RHP, 6-5, Madison, NJ/Madison

Gavin Wallace put the Stags on his back tossing a complete game allowing two runs (one earned) in his full seven innings of work. The win was important as well, as it kept the Stags hopes of the MAAC Regular Season title alive. In his seven innings, Wallace allowed six hits, striking out six, and retired the final nine men he faced to give the Stags the win.

Rookie of the Week

Frankie Gregoire, Marist

Fr., OF/DH, 6-0, Simsbury, CT/Phillips Andover Academy

To help propel his team into the MAAC Championship, Gregoire batted .500 (6-for-12) with a .917 slugging percentage and a .625 on base percentage to go along with two doubles, a home runs, four walks, four runs scored and six RBI in three games at Siena. He went 2-for-4 with three walks, a three run home run, one run scored and three RBI in Game 1 on Saturday, had a walk and a run scored in a 6-2 win in Game 1 on Saturday, went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, a run scored and two RBI in Game 2 and went 2-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Game 3. With the performance, Gregoire continues his streak of reaching safely in the last 11 games and has gotten a hit in 10 of those.
