Fairfield's Day & Niagara's Hunt, Roberts Claim MAAC Volleyball Weekly Awards
Player of the Week
Skyler Day, Fairfield

Skyler Day earns her third MAAC Player of the Week honor this season. The senior led the Stags to a pair of straight-set wins over the weekend as Fairfield University swept visiting Manhattan College and Iona College to remain unbeaten in the MAAC play. Day hit .433 (30-4-60) on the outside for the week, averaging 5.00 kills per set. She completed a double-double against the Jaspers with 11 digs and fell just shy of the mark the following day with nine digs in the sweep of the Gaels to round out her average at 3.33 digs per set. Day also tallied an assist, two service aces, and a pair of blocks.
Libero of the Week
Rylee Hunt, Niagara
Sr., L, Cypress, CA/Los Alamitos High School
Rylee Hunt claims her sixth MAAC Libero of the Week honor. Hunt’s six weekly awards are the most compiled by a MAAC student-athlete this season. The senior led Niagara University in digs with 6.25 per set and led each match in digs as the Purple Eagles picked up wins against Rider University and Saint Peter’s University. Hunt recorded a match-best 27 digs, along with a season-high 11 assists for her first double-double of the season, and had a season-high three aces versus Rider on Saturday. Hunt had a match-high 23 digs against Saint Peter’s on Sunday for her 14
th 20-plus dig match. Hunt is second in the NCAA in digs per set (6.16).
Rookie of the Week
Jaycie Roberts, Niagara
Fr., DS/OH, Carson City, NV/Carson City High School
Jaycie Roberts led the Purple Eagles in kills per set (3.88) and points per set (4.19) in their wins over Rider and Saint Peter’s. Roberts had a match-high 22 kills, which are the most by a Purple Eagle this season, and recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 15 digs in Niagara’s five-set win over Rider on Saturday. Roberts followed with nine kills, 11 digs and two aces in the three-set victory over Saint Peter’s on Sunday. Roberts finished the weekend with a .348 hitting percentage, a .974 reception percentage, and a .969 serving percentage. Roberts takes home her second MAAC Rookie of the Week honor of 2017.
