Quinnipiac University (9-6-3, 5-2-3 MAAC) knocked off Rider University (5-10-3, 4-3-3 MAAC), 3-1, in quarterfinal action behind two goals from junior forward Nadya Gill and a score from junior forward Al Pelletier. Quinnipiac advances to the semifinals to face second No. 2 Manhattan College on Tuesday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. from Field 17 on ESPN3.
Rider tied the game up, 1-1, in the 36
th minute when freshman midfield Cameron Santers when she found the back of the net. Gill answered in the 79
th minute with her 13
th goal of the season. Pelletier added the insurance goal for the Bobcats in the 83
rd minute. Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Myszewski added five saves.
Quinnipiac Notes:
- Quinnipiac advances to the MAAC semifinals for a second-straight season.
- Gill’s two goals give her a total of three goals in MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship games. The junior’s 34 points this season ranks 19th all-time in MAAC single-season history.
Rider Notes:
- Santers is the 10th Bronc to score a point this season and eight to score a goal.
- Rider rookie goalkeeper Carmen Carbonell recorded six saves in the defeat.
- Red-shirt senior forward Michelle Iacono ends her Broncs career sixth all-time in points scored for Rider (56), while senior forward Ellie Smith finished in seventh (55).

No. 2 Manhattan College (9-6-3, 6-2-2 MAAC) defeated No. 10 Iona College (3-14-3, 2-7-1 MAAC), 6-0, to advance to the 2017 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship semifinals. The Jaspers take on No. 3 Quinnipiac University on Tuesday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. from Field 17 on ESPN3.
Manhattan Notes:
- Senior forward Erica Modena tallied two goals and an assist en route to victory. Modena notched the game’s first score in the 10th minute with a header off a cross from Saul. The forward later found the back of the net in the 61st minute. After today’s five-point effort, Modena has 26 points (10 goals, six assists) on the season.
- Jaspers’ junior forward Emma Saul recorded a goal and two assists. Saul scored in the 54th minute off a cross from Modena. The junior assisted on the game’s first two goals (Modena, 10’, Aylmer, 11’). The goal was Saul’s fourth of the season.
- Senior midfield/back Nicole Aylmer (11’), freshman forward Lindsey Healy (81’), and junior forward/midfield Annie Doerr (87’) all added tallies in the 6-0 win.
- Junior goalkeeper Kelly DiGregorio added five saves in 70 minutes and sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Printy made one stop in the shutout.
Iona Notes:
- The Gaels finished the season (3-14-3, 2-7-1 MAAC). Saturday’s win against No. 7 Fairfield University, marked the first time Iona won a game in the MAAC Women’s Championship since 1992.
- Senior goalkeeper Tiffany Martinez made four saves.
- Iona recorded 14 shots, six on goal, and five corners.

No. 4 Siena College (11-7, 6-4 MAAC) defeated fifth seeded Marist College (8-8-3, 5-3-2 MAAC), 1-0, to advance to the 2017 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship semifinals. Senior midfield Madison Vasquez scored on an assist from Casey Scott in the 52
nd minute. Saints sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Dorado recorded a clean sheet with one save.
Siena Notes:
- Siena improves to (3-4) in MAAC Women’s Soccer quarterfinal action and 3-2 all-time against Marist in championship play
- With the win, the Saints earned their 10th victory in MAAC Championship history.
- Saints are now 8-3 in MAAC Championship play since 2010.
Marist Notes:
- Marist wraps up its season at (8-8-3, 5-2-1 MAAC) under first-year head coach Gene Smith.
- Senior forward Brianna Robinson recorded the lone shot on goal for Marist.
- Senior goalkeeper Makala Foley posted three saves in the 1-0 defeat.

No. 1 Monmouth University (13-3-2, 9-1 MAAC) advanced to the 2017 MAAC Women’s Soccer semifinals with a, 1-0, win over No. 8 Niagara University (7-9-3, 3-6-1 MAAC). The Hawks face No. 4 Siena College on Tuesday, October 31, at 11:30 a.m. from Field 17 on ESPN3.
Monmouth Notes:
- Red-shirt sophomore forward Madie Gibson scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute off a cross from junior forward Jazlyn Moya. The goal marked Gibson’s fifth of the season. She has totaled 18 points this season and three game-winning goals, including two in her last three games.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Knaub made two saves en route to her league-leading 11th shutout of the season.
- The Hawks registered 17 shots, seven on goal, and took 10 corners.
- Monmouth improved to (12-0-1) in conference games away from Hesse Field on the Great Lawn.
Niagara Notes:
- The Purple Eagles finished the season (7-9-3, 3-6-1 MAAC). Today’s game marked the first MAAC quarterfinal for Niagara since 2014.
- Freshman goalkeeper Sabrina Locas recorded six saves, which marked the sixth-time this season that she made five or more saves.
