For the first time since 2011 and for the fifth time in program history, Fairfield University (12-4-3) claims the MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship. The Stags find out its NCAA Tournament opponent on Monday, November 13 at 1:30 p.m. on

Fairfield Notes:
- Fairfield has won the MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship five times in program history (2017, 2011, 2008, 2006, 1999), which is the most among active MAAC members. Former MAAC member Loyola (MD) holds the record with 12.
- Diallo Simon-Ponte scored the lone goal in the 70th minute for Fairfield.
- Unanimous All-Rookie team and All-MAAC Second team member Gordon Botterill posted two saves in the victory. Botterill adds more hardware to his rookie season, as the Switzerland native was named to the All-Championship team.
- Ben Wignall and Jonathan Uy join Botterill on the All-Championship team with senior Angus Hastings named 2017 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship MVP.
- Fairfield recorded 11 shots with five shots on goal.
Rider Notes:
- Jose Aguinaga, Sylvain Coco and Elliott Otmani were named to the 2017 All-Championship team
- Rider finishes the season with a 12-5-2 overall record and were ranked as high as number 22 in the USCAA/NCAA national poll this season.
- Senior goalkeeper David Pastuna recorded four saves in the defeat.
- Aguinaga and Otmani combined for 35 points this season
- Rider competed in its third-straight MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship Game, winning the previous two.
