2017 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship Field is Set

Fairfield University Claims First MAAC Regular Season Championship since 2011

EDISON, NJ – Fairfield University (11-4-2, 7-1-1 MAAC) is the MAAC Men’s Soccer Regular Season Champions. With the Stags 3-0 win over Rider University, the Stags have secured the number one overall seed for the championship as well as a first-round bye. Fairfield faces the highest remaining seed from the two first-round games.
 
Rider University (11-3-2, 6-2-2) claims the second seed in the championship and takes on the lower remaining seed from the two first-round games. Semifinal action takes place on Thursday, November 9 with Fairfield and Rider serving as semifinal hosts.
 
Canisius College (11-3-4, 5-1-4) earned the third seed and takes on Iona College in first-round action on Sunday, November 5 in Buffalo, NY. In their regular season match, the Griffs and the Gaels tied 0-0 in double overtime on October 28. Game time is set for 1pm on Sunday on ESPN3.
 
Fourth seeded Manhattan College (9-7-1, 6-3-1) faces fifth seeded Quinnipiac University (7-9-1, 6-4) on Sunday, November 5. During the regular season match on October 14, the Bobcats defeated the Jaspers 1-0. Game time is set for 2pm on Sunday on MAAC.TV
