Matt Scott scored the game-winning basket to complete a comeback victory at Norfolk State on December 16 in Niagara’s lone game of the week. Scott connected on a 3-pointer, his team-best fourth of the game, with 0.5 seconds remaining to give Niagara an 85-82 win in a game that the Purple Eagles trailed by 18 points in the second half. Scott finished with a game-high 20 points for his ninth straight 20-point game. He chipped in four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 31 minutes.

Roman Penn averaged 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week for the Saints. He shot 64% from the field, 50% from three-point range, and 83% from the free throw line. Penn scored eight points Monday at defending America East Champion and unanimous preseason favorite Vermont. He then posted season-highs of 19 points, nine rebounds, and three steals while also adding four assists in Sunday's road win at Bryant.
