Iona's Schultz, Vilander and Wagner's Pullyblank Win Weekly Awards

In three games for the Gaels this week, junior Hannah Schultz scored 18 goals on 32 shots to help the gaels to a 2-1 week. Iona defeated St. Francis Brooklyn 16-9 to open up conference play, a game which saw Schultz score six goals on 11 shots. In Iona’s 17-4 victory over La Salle on Saturday morning, junior Hannah Schultz tallied her second consecutive 6-goal performance, completing the feat with nine shots.
In the Gaels’ 13-11 Overtime loss to #24 Marist, the junior added another six-goal performance on 12 shots. She now leads the team with 50 goals.

In a 2-1 week for the Gaels, junior Britten Vilander went 2-1, making 35 saves and allowing 26 goals.
Iona opened up the week with a 16-9 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn, a game which saw Vilander make 7 saves and allow 9 goals. Vilander was a brick wall for the Gaels in Iona’s 17-4 victory Saturday morning against La Salle. The Santa Barbara, California Native allowed only 4 goals, while making 13 saves, collecting two steals, and adding one assist. In Iona’s 13-11 overtime loss to #24 Marist, the junior made 15 saves and collected four steals. She now holds a .480 save percentage.
Rookie of the Week
Millie Pullyblank
Wagner College
Freshman, Center, Victoria, Australia
Freshman center Millie Pullyblank registered 12 points on 10 goals and two assists as the Seahawks swept the weekend competition 3-0. The rookie’s best performance came in Wagner’s 19-5 victory over St. Francis, burying a team-high five goals and cashing a hat trick before the first quarter’s end. Additionally, she collected a team-high four steals while forcing the Terriers to three exclusions. Earlier in the day, Pullyblank logged a hat trick against the Wildcats, netting a perfect 3-for-3 strikes for a 1.000 shot percentage.
