Monmouth Men's Tennis to Take on #2 Virginia in NCAA Tournament

EDISON, NJ – The back-to-back Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Tennis Champions, Monmouth University, will face #2 Virginia in the NCAA Tournament. Monmouth met Virginia in last year's NCAA Tournament.
This season, Monmouth went 7-0 in the MAAC and defeated Fairfield and Marist en route to winning the 2017 MAAC Men's Tennis Championship. Nicola Pipoli was named 2017 MAAC Men's Tennis Most Outstanding Player.
First year head coach Alex Kasarov was named 2017 MAAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year after leading the Hawks to an undefeated conference record. Monmouth swept All-MAAC First team honors in doubles play. Alberto Giuffrida was named to the All-MAAC First team at #5 singles. Przemyslaw Filipek, Ale Gomez Estrada, Christian Vieria and Sergio Martinez earned All-MAAC Second Team honors at second, third, fourth and sixth singles, respectively.
