MAAC Announces Men's Lacrosse Major Awards Winners & All-MAAC Teams

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced the 2017 Men's Lacrosse All-MAAC Teams and Major Award winners at the league's annual Postseason Awards Show.
The 2017 MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year is Connor Kearnan from Canisius College and Chris Robertson of Siena College. Kearnan ranked second in the MAAC with 32 goals and ranked first in the conference with 55 points. Robertson led the MAAC with 35 goals and ranked fourth with 3.00 points per game. Kearnan earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Week three times this season.
The 2017 Face Off Specialist of the Year is Will Vitelli from Quinnipiac University.Vitelli earns this award for the second year in a row.Vitelli led the MAAC with a .589 faceoff percentage, winning 119 face-offs over 11 games played. His .589 faceoff percentage ranks 14th overall in the NCAA.
Justin Schwenk from Monmouth University is the 2017 Rookie of the Year. He ranked third in the MAAC with 4.47 groundballs per game and a .522 faceoff percentage. Schwenk was named MAAC Rookie of the Week three times this season.
Joe Arcarese from Siena College was voted as the MAAC Long Stick Midfielder of the Year. The senior recorded picked up 37 groundballs, averaging 2.64 per game, which ranked 10th in the MAAC. He had 16 caused turnovers and scored five goals this season.
The 2017 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year Award goes to Nick Hreshko from Monmouth Unviersity. Hreshko led the MAAC with a 6.90 goals against average and was second in the conference with a .589 save percentage. He was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week four times this season.
The 2017 BSN Sports MAAC Coach of the Year is Brian Fisher from Monmouth University. Fisher led the Hawks to the MAAC regular season championship after the team went undefeated in conference play to earn the crown. The Hawks currently hold the nation's longest active winning streak.
