78 MAAC Events to Air on ESPN+ and ESPN3 through School Productions

EDISON, NJ – A total of 78 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) fall sports will stream on ESPN+ and ESPN3 during the regular season. This is an increase from the 53 regular season events that were carried on ESPN platforms in fall 2017. Six of the 11 members will be producing content (Canisius College, Fairfield University, Iona College, Marist College, Monmouth University, and Rider University). Of the 78 fall events, there are 32 volleyball games, 21 men’s soccer games, 20 women’s soccer game, and five field hockey games. Iona leads the pack producing 20, Canisius at 19, Marist, Monmouth & Rider at 12 productions, and Fairfield will stream six events.

In the second year of an eight-year agreement with ESPN, the MAAC will look to produce more than 400 events during the 2018-19 academic year. By the 2019-20 academic year all 11 MAAC institutions will be equipped with production facilities that will allow them to deliver live events on ESPN+ and ESPN3. By the end of the eight-year agreement the conference will produce nearly 500 events annually.

In addition to regular season productions a number of MAAC championships will air on ESPN networks in October and November. Networks of fall championships will be announced at a later date.
