Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Russell Malko, Rider
Sr., Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central
Senior Russell Malko had another strong showing for the Broncs at the Wagner College Invite last week competed at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Malko posted a pair of IC4A qualifying times on the day. He won the 500 by almost three seconds with an IC4A-qualifying mark of 1:04.41. Malko was also part of the Bronc 4x400 relay that won with an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:18.96. His time in the 500 is the best in the MAAC this season by over a second.
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Sara Gardner, Rider
Gr., Holland Township, NJ/Delaware Valley
Graduate Student Sara Gardner opened the 2019 calendar year with a strong showing for the Broncs at the Wagner College Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex last week. She finished second overall and was the top collegiate performer in the 60m hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time 8.69. She also finished in a tie for first-place in the high jump with a leap of 1.65m. Her time in 60m hurdles tops in the MAAC this season.
Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Corey Murphy, Monmouth
R-Sr., Yaphank, NY/Longwood
Murphy dominated the field at the Wagner Indoor Invitational this past Friday by winning the shot put with a mark of 59'3" (18.06 meters). He won by more than 8 feet in the event and also qualified for the IC4A Championships with the throw.
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Allison Taub, Monmouth
Sr., Holland, PA/Council Rock South
Taub won the shot put at the Wagner Indoor Invitational with a mark of 48'0.5" (14.65 meters). This mark ranks as second best in school history and qualifies her for the ECAC Championships in March.
