Offensive Player of the Week
Dominic Laws, Saint Peter's
Jr., Sunderland, England/St. Aidan's Catholic Academy
Laws added to an already impressive junior season for Saint Peter's this week, tallying three goals in two games. In a road match against Marist, Laws scored two of the Peacocks' three goals in their overtime victory against the Red Foxes, including the game-winner in the 96th minute off an assist from teammate Jordan Jowers. Against Niagara on Saturday night, Laws scored within in the third minute of the match, which the Peacocks would go on to win 2-1. Laws ranks first in the MAAC in points (26), points per game (1.86), goals (11), goals per game (.733), and shots on goal (34).
Defensive Player of the Week
Adrien Awana, Manhattan
Sr., Bordeaux, France/Gustave Eiffel (Universitie of Bordeaux)
Awana scored a goal and anchored a defense that produced a shutout during a 2-0 week for Manhattan. He netted the game-winning goal in the 50th minute against Canisius, curling home a free kick into the back of the net. The senior also fueled a defensive effort that produced a 3-0 shutout win over Fairfield on Wednesday.
Rookie of the Week
Tomas Svecula, Quinnipiac
Fr., Trencin, Slovaki/AS Trencin
Svecula recorded both a goal and an assist in the Bobcats' road win at Monmouth on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The first-year forward leads the Bobcats with 13 total points (5 goals, 3 assists) so far this season.
