No. 1 Quinnipiac (26-6) defeated No. 3 Marist (23-10) 81-51 in the 2019 MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship Game. The win marks the third straight MAAC title for Quinnipiac, and the fourth in five years. The Bobcats went a perfect 21-0 against MAAC foes this season with 18 regular season wins and three in the MAAC Championship. Quinnipiac will represent the MAAC in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time since joining the conference.

- The Bobcats went 3-0 this year against the Red Foxes and move to 3-1 all-time against Marist in the MAAC Championship Game
- The win is Quinnipiac’s 52nd-straight over MAAC opponents
- The Bobcats were not called for a single foul in the first half
- Jen Fay was named Championship MVP, recording a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds
- Fay was hot early from beyond the arc, going 4-of-6 in the first half from deep and finishing 5-of-8. The first and third quarters started with a Fay three-pointer
- Paula Strautmane and Aryn McClure joined Fay in representing Quinnipiac on the All-Championship Team
- McClure (18), Edel Thornton (16), and Strautmane (10) all also finished in double figures
Marist Notes
- Marist came out of the gates hot, hitting their first six shots. They finished the quarter shooting 8-of-13 (61.5-percent)
- For the rest of the game, Marist was 15-of-51 (29.4-percent)
- The Red Foxes were held without a field goal for the last 4:17 of the game
- Grace Vander Weide finished with 25 points, nearly half of Marist’s total
- Vander Weide was named to the MAAC All-Championship team along with teammate Sarah Barcello
- Alana Gilmer, who was scratched from Marist’s lineup in its win over Rider, finished the game with nine points and two rebounds
- Rebekah Hand finished with four points, going 2-of-9 from the field
