NJIT (22-12) moved on in the 2019 CIT with a 92-81 win over Quinnipiac (16-15) on Monday night. The Highlanders hit 12 3-pointers and went 20-of-26 at the free throw line.
NJIT Notes
• The Highlanders were led by Zach Cooks with a game-high 34 points (12-of-20).
• NJIT hit 60-percent from the field in the second half after shooting 44-percent in the first 20 minutes.
• Shyquan Gibbs and Diandre Wilson were also in double figures with 15 points.
• All 20 free throws hit by the Highlanders came in the second half.
Quinnipiac Notes
• Quinnipiac finished the season over .500 for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign.
• Cameron Young led the Bobcats with 29 points (11-of-19) and added eight rebounds.
• Rich Kelly & Aaron Robinson finished with 11 points.
• The Bobcats hit 10 treys, their 24th game this season of 10-plus 3-pointers made.
• Kevin Marfo pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and chipped in six points.
