Monmouth’s Wilson Finishes Fifth at 2019 NCAA Track & Field National Championships
AUSTIN, TX – Monmouth University’s Allie Wilson rounded out her collegiate career Saturday as she ran to a fifth-place finish in the 800M final of the 2019 NCAA Track and Field National Championships.
Wilson finished with a time of 2:02.56. The time stands as a new personal-best for the graduate student, and the fastest in program history. Wilson’s fifth-place finish earns her First Team All-American honors. It is the second time this year that Wilson has been named a First Team All-American, after finishing fourth in the 800M with a time of 2:04.12 at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on March 9.
Wilson advanced to the 800M final after finishing second in her heat on Thursday, recording a time of 2:03.12. The Wallingford, Pennsylvania native won the event at this year’s MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, crossing the finish line in 2:04.75. Wilson was named the Most Outstanding Performer for track events at the MAAC championships.
