Record Number of Student-Athletes Named to 2018-19 MAAC Academic Honor Roll
EDISON, N.J. – A conference-record 2,478 student-athletes have been named to the 2018-19 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic Honor Roll.
The total number of student-athletes named to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll has increased each year since 2006-07.
"On behalf of the MAAC, I'd like to congratulate all the student-athletes named to the 2018-19 Academic Honor Roll,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “A total of 2,478 student-athletes being recognized is a great testament to each institutions' commitment to excellence.”
To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Academic Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members in the MAAC. All 23 conference-sponsored sports are represented.
Marist College tallied a league-high 262 honorees, marking the 18th straight year the college has led the conference. Monmouth University and Quinnipiac University followed with 231 student-athletes apiece.
Sacred Heart University, which competed in the MAAC for field hockey and rowing for the 2018-19 academic year, led the way for associate members with 44 student-athletes earning spots on the Academic Honor Roll.
