MAAC Announces 2019-20 ESPN Basketball Broadcast Schedule
EDISON, N.J. (Sept. 16, 2019) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the 2019-20 men’s and women’s basketball broadcast schedule featuring six ESPNU regular season contests.
Reigning conference champion Quinnipiac University Women’s Basketball will head to Rider University on Thursday, Jan. 9. The game is set to tipoff at 11 a.m. on ESPNU. The last meeting between the two teams came in February 2019 when the Bobcats erased a 16-point deficit to secure their fifth-straight MAAC regular season title.
Rider Men’s Basketball will host Iona College on Friday, Jan. 10, airing at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The Gaels ended the 2018-19 regular season with an 86-70 win over Rider before going on to claim their fourth-straight MAAC Championship.
Four additional regular season men’s basketball games are slated to air on ESPNU on Friday nights in February. Any game scheduled for those evenings can be flexed on to ESPNU as the MAAC Wildcard Game.
ESPN and the MAAC will announce the wildcard game 21 days prior to the scheduled game. The wildcard format allows ESPN to pick any game scheduled for that specific date to air on ESPNU, giving the flexibility to showcase the best matchups as the season progresses.
The 2019-20 campaign concludes with the 2020 MAAC Basketball Championships from March 10-14 at Atlantic City's Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. The men’s semifinals will air on ESPNews on March 13 at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The Women’s Championship Game is slated for an 11 a.m. tip on ESPNews on March 14. The Men’s Championship Game is scheduled to air live on ESPNU on March 14 at 4:00 p.m. The remainder of the MAAC Championships games will air on ESPN3.
Games aired on an ESPN network will also be available through the ESPN App, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. All events will be available for replay on the ESPN App.
