Lou Lopez-Senechal, Fairfield

The MAAC Preseason Player of the Year led the Stags in scoring in both games of their season opening weekend, averaging 22.0 points per game and shooting 73 percent (11-for-15) from behind the arc in Fairfield's 1-1 week. In the win over Hofstra, Lopez-Senechal connected on six of her eight shot attempts from deep in helping the Stags to record a program single game record 17 3-pointers. She also shot 8-for-11 from the field in the win at Hofstra.
Rookie of the Week
Caitlin Weimar, Marist
Fr., Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick Hudson
Weimar made her presence known in her collegiate debut, recording 12 points as well as team-highs with seven rebounds (three offensive boards) and three blocks in Marist's season-opening win over Army West Point, who previously beat two MAAC opponents. The rookie forward also tied for the team lead with six field goals. She became the first Red Fox freshman to start and score in double figures in a season opener since her teammate, Willow Duffell, did the same in 2017.
