MAAC Esports Resumes Play
Edison, N.J. (March 25, 2020) - Saint Peter’s University defeated Siena College in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate last night as Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Esports resumed play. The Peacocks won 18-13 over the Saints in the lone match of the night.
With the win, Saint Peter’s moved into a tie for first place in the Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF) College Series Season 1 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Series with a 6-1 record. Canisius College owns the tiebreaker, also sitting with a 6-1 record atop the standings. Siena fell back to third place with the loss, moving to 5-2. Following the top three are Marist College (3-3) and Manhattan College (3-3), Niagara University (2-4), RIT (0-6), and Quinnipiac University (0-6).
The continuation of the Esports schedule comes after the postponement of the 2020 MAAC Esports Championship presented by New Jersey Army Nation Guard due to the COVID-19 pandemic. League play was originally suspended but will now continue with players logging in from home.
MAAC Esports play continues tonight with four matches scheduled in Rocket League. Matches begin at 5:00 p.m. at can be streamed at

- Quinnipiac vs. Marist – 5:30 p.m.
- Manhattan vs. Niagara – 7:00 p.m.
