New York (May 7, 2020) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced today the renewal of its contract with The Armory Track and Field Center, home of the MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The new contract will begin in 2021 and extend through the 2023 championships.

"We are very excited to continue to have our MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at The Armory,” said Carolyn Martin, Director of Cross Country and Track and Field at Quinnipiac University. “It’s a state-of-the-art facility and really takes the championships to the next level. With the improvements The Armory has made to the facility, they are the most equipped to host Division I conference championships, and we are excited to continue to be a part of it!"
The Armory has been a been a staple in New York City for over 100 years. The facility, recognized as one of the fastest tracks in the world, hosts over 100 track and field competitions each year. The track is home to over 57 high school and 12 professional American records.
“I am elated that the MAAC has successfully negotiated a new contract with The Armory,” said Saint Peter’s University Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach John Marshall. “The Armory is symbolic of championship track and field competition. The location also serves as a museum for USA Track and Field and has served as a transitional athletic hub for past and future Olympians. The proximity, acoustics, and historical legacy of The Armory makes this a wonderful site for our student-athletes; an experience they will be able to share with their children as I do today with my kids.”
