MAAC Announces Golf Preseason Coaches’ Polls
EDISON, NJ (Feb. 22, 2021) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the 2021 Preseason Coaches’ Polls for Men’s and Women’s Golf, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Iona College claimed the top spot on the men’s side, collecting 74 points and five first-place votes. The Gaels were four-point favorites over second-place Rider University, with the Broncs collecting 70 points and two first-place votes. Saint Peter’s University and Siena College followed with 59 and 54 points, respectively, with both schools claiming a single first-place vote. The 2021 Men’s Golf Preseason Poll was rounded out by Canisius College, Fairfield University, Monmouth University, Manhattan College, and Niagara University.
On the women’s side, the University at Albany claimed the top spot with 75 points and five first-place votes. The Great Danes narrowly beat out Quinnipiac University, which collected 73 points and two first-place votes. The University of Dayton and University of Hartford both collected a single first-place vote to land third and fourth, respectively. The 2021 Women’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll was rounded out by Siena, Fairfield, Monmouth, Niagara, and La Salle University.
