Siena’s Manny Camper Named Player of the Year, Saint Peter’s Ndefo, Canisius’ Green and Iona’s Joseph Take Home Awards

Atlantic City, N.J. (March 10, 2021) –The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced its 2020-21 Men’s Basketball Major Awards, as voted on by the league’s 11 head coaches.
 
Siena College’s Camper a unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team, was named the 2020-21 MAAC Player of the Year after averaging 14.6 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists in his senior season.  A two-time MAAC Player of the Week, leads the MAAC in double-doubles (six), rebounding (10.0), defensive rebounding (7.62), and minutes per game (37:41). Camper is averaging a double-double for the second straight season as he also stands fourth in the MAAC in scoring (14.6), while also ranking fourth in assists (3.9).
 
KC Ndefo picked up Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. The junior forward led the Peacocks in scoring, blocks, and steals for the second consecutive season, averaging 13.6 points, 3.7 blocks, and 1.4 steals. Ndefo ranked top-10 in the MAAC in all three categories, finishing the regular season first in blocks, sixth in points, and seventh in steals, while also ranking ninth in rebounds. His blocks per game average and total blocks (85) both lead the nation
 
Malek Green of Canisius College was voted as the sixth player of the year. Green led the Golden Griffins with his 13.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He enters the conference tournament ranked eighth in the MAAC in scoring and third in boards per game, making him one of four players in the league to rank in the top-10 in both scoring and rebounding average.
 
Nelly Junior Joseph a unanimous All-Rookie Team selection, was voted Rookie of the Year. Joseph was named MAAC Rookie of the Week on four separate occasions this season. Through the regular season, he averaged 12.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game and started 11 out of 13 regular season games for the Gaels.
