2021 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship Field Set

Edison, N.J. (March 7, 2021) – The field is set for the 2021 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship. The 11-team tournament will take place from March 8-13 in Atlantic City’s Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
 
The top-five teams in the bracket all earn a bye in the first round. No. 1 Siena College (12-4, 12-4 MAAC) secured the top seed and a share of the regular season title with No. 2 Monmouth (12-7,12-6)
 
First round action tips off on Monday, March 8 with No. 6 Canisius College (7-5, 7-5) and No. 11 Rider University (5-16, 5-13) at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+. The winner of that contest will face No. 3 Saint Peter’s (13-10, 10-8) on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
 
No. 8 Quinnipiac University (9-12, 7-10) takes on No. 9 Iona College (8-5, 6-3) in game two on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. The Bobcats took the only matchup between the two teams earlier in the season. No. 1 Siena will await the winner of that matchup in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
 
No. 7 Fairfield University (7-16, 7-11) and No. 10 Manhattan College (7-12, 6-12) close out the first round with a 7:30 p.m. meeting. The two schools split their matchup in the regular season. No. 2 Monmouth is slated to play the winner of the No. 7/No. 10 matchup on Wednesday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m.
 
Wrapping up the quarterfinals is No. 4 Marist College going against No. 5 Niagara University for a Thursday night showdown at 7:30 p.m. The two split their regular season meetings, Marist took the first of back-to-back meetings 63-61 and Niagara took the second game 86-72.
 
All games of the 2021 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship will be broadcasted on ESPN+, with the exception of the two semifinal games which will air on ESPNews and the championship game which will be broadcasted on ESPNU.
