Iona and Fairfield score big victories to advance to the Quarterfinals of the Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship
Atlantic City, N.J. (March 9, 2021) – Iona college dominated Quinnipiac from the jump to earn a matchup with No.1 Siena in the Quarterfinals. Fairfield wins an overtime triller over Manhattan to advance to the Quarterfinals.

Key Moments:
- Isaiah Ross of Iona was named the Tropicana Player of the Game, Ross had a game-high 15 points.
- Dwayne Koroma tied a career-high with 10 points and JeanLouis finished the game with a career-high 11 rebounds, seven points and three steals.
- The Bobcats never led the game with Iona controlling the action for 37:22 of the game.
- Luis Kortright recorded a team-high seven points, while Jacob Rigoni and Tyree Pickron each added six points. The Bobcats also received 27 points from their bench.
Notables:
- Iona out-rebounded Quinnipiac, 50-33. The Gaels collected 12 offensive rebounds leading directly to 15 points.
- Tuesday's first round matchup with Quinnipiac was its first time ever matching with the Bobcats in the MAAC Championship

Tomorrow night, Iona will face off against the No.1 seed and Co-Regular Season Champions Siena Saints. This marquee matchup will pit two of the top teams in the league.

- Manhattan’s Ethan Lasko hit a game tying three at the end of regulation to force overtime.
- Fairfield had major contributions from the bench with 26 bench points.
- There were nine lead changes in the game.
Notables:
- This was the third straight game that the Stags and Jaspers faced off, dating back to the regular season.
- This meeting was also the third consecutive time they have faced off in the MAAC Championship First Round.
