2021 MAAC Men’s Tennis Championship Field is Set
EDISON, NJ – The 2021 Men’s Tennis Championship field and seedings are confirmed. Heading to the MAAC Championship in West Windsor, New Jersey is the top seed Monmouth University (12-2, 5-0 MAAC), second-seeded Fairfield University (6-3, 4-1 MAAC), third-seeded Quinnipiac University (5-4-1, 3-3 MAAC), and fourth-seeded Marist College (2-0, 2-0). The opening round of the championship is set for Saturday, April 24 at the Mercer County Tennis Center.
Monmouth will enter the 2021 MAAC Championship as the No. 1 seed for the sixth consecutive year. The Hawks, who finished undefeated in MAAC play and have not suffered a loss in the MAAC Championship tournament since 2014, will be searching for their fifth straight championship.
Fairfield University will be making its fifth straight postseason appearance, with their only MAAC loss coming at the hands of Monmouth in their final game of the regular season. Fairfield has won five of their last six matches heading into the tournament and will be looking for their first championship since 2012.
Quinnipiac holds the No. 3 seed after finishing the season 3-3 in the MAAC. The Bobcats look to make their first championship match appearance since the 2016 campaign and claim their first MAAC title in program history. This marks the sixth consecutive year the Bobcats have made the postseason.
Marist claimed the final spot in the 2021 MAAC Men’s Tennis Championship after finishing their abbreviated season winning their two matches in the final three days of the season. Marist will be looking to defeat Monmouth for the first time since 2014 when they defeated the Hawks 4-2 in the MAAC Men’s Championship Match.
The 2021 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Championship will be held at Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey. Semifinal action begins Saturday, April 24 with No. 1 Monmouth taking on No. 4 Marist and No. 2 Fairfield taking on No. 3 Quinnipiac.
