Edison, N.J. (August 27, 2021) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced today the 2021-22 men's basketball conference schedule.  
 
All 11 MAAC institutions will play a 20-game conference slate, seeing every opponent once at home and once on the road. Conference play tips off with an early December week, starting Wednesday, Dec. 1 to Sunday, Dec. 5, where during that timeframe, each team will play two games. The remainder of the conference schedule will take place from Friday, Dec. 31 to Saturday, March 5.
 
The 2021-22 campaign will conclude with the 2022 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Basketball Championships from March 8-12 in Atlantic City, NJ. Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall will once again play host to the championships for the third-straight season.
 
The conference tournament champion will earn the league's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The 2021 MAAC Champion, Iona College, will look to punch their ticket back to the NCAA Tournament and claim their 14
th MAAC championship.

2021-22 Schedule Highlights:
 
	- Reigning MAAC Champion Iona College opens conference play when they travel to Marist College to take on the Red Foxes on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
- Fairfield University (at Canisius College), Rider University (at Iona), Manhattan College (at Siena College), Monmouth University (at Niagara University), and Saint Peter’s University (at Quinnipiac University) all take to the road to begin their conference schedules on Friday, December 3.
- Fairfield will get a pair of opportunities for revenge when they take on the 2020-21 Rookie of the Year, Nelly Junior Joseph, and Iona on Jan. 2 & Feb. 20 in a rematch of the 2021 MAAC Championship Game.
- Canisius and Niagara will meet for the ‘Battle of the Bridge’ on Friday, Jan. 14 at Niagara and Saturday, Feb. 19 at Canisius.
- The hOURglass rivalry resumes between Monmouth, Rider, and Saint Peter’s. The Hawks will host the Broncs on Friday, Feb. 18, and the Peacocks on Friday, Feb. 25. Rider welcomes Saint Peter’s on Sunday, Jan. 16, and Monmouth on Saturday, March 5. The Peacocks will see the Hawks and Broncs visit Friday, Jan. 14, and Friday, Feb. 11, respectively.
- Siena, the 2020-21 MAAC Regular Season Champion, will see rival Marist on Friday, Jan. 14 when they travel to Poughkeepsie and again on Friday, Feb. 18 when the Saints host the Red Foxes. 
- Crosstown rivals Iona and Manhattan face off on Friday, Jan. 14, and Thursday, March 3. The two schools have combined to win eight MAAC championships since 2013.
- The second set of crosstown rivals, Quinnipiac and Fairfield, go head-to-head on Sunday, Jan. 16 in Hamden, and Wednesday, Feb. 9 in Bridgeport.
- The regular season concludes on Saturday, March 5 when Canisius hosts Siena, Fairfield travels to Saint Peter’s, Iona takes on Quinnipiac, Marist plays Niagara, and Rider visits Monmouth.
