Monmouth's Dombroski Named Collegiate Baseball News All-American

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Following a stellar 2022 season, Monmouth University Baseball pitcher Trey Dombroski has been named a Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball News, the organization announced Thursday.

Dombroski is the seventh Hawk to ever earn All-America status, and the first since Pat Light in 2012. He joins Joe McCullough (1998) as a Second Teamer, with Jay Law in 2001 standing at the only First Team All-American in program history. Light, Ryan Terry (2011), Mike Kelly (2003) and Brian Gismonde (1999) were all Third Team honorees.

Dombroski's 2022 season marks as one of the best in program history. His 120 strikeouts shattered the single-season program mark that was set by Light in 2012, as he pitched to a 3.13 ERA and 6-2 record. Dombroski issued just 14 walks in 95 innings and opponents hit only .224 against him. He was named the unanimous MAAC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-MAAC after earning five MAAC Pitcher of the Week honors.

Dombroski was the only player on the three All-America teams from the MAAC and from the state of New Jersey.
