Idan Tretout, Iona

Iona graduate Idan Tretout had a strong debut for the Maroon & Gold averaging a MAAC-leading 25.5 points per game on 51.4% shooting from the field, 50.0% from long distance while connecting on nine three-pointers in two games during opening week. Tretout began his Gael tenure with a 17-point, three-rebound effort at CAA favorite Charleston Monday night. He followed it up with a career-high 34 points in Iona's win over Sacred Heart on Friday. Tretout shot 7-for-12 from distance in the win and recorded two rebounds and two assists. The 34 points and seven three-pointers made were single-game MAAC highs for the first week of the 2023-24 season. The Preseason All-MAAC Third Team selection played three seasons with Harvard before graduate transferring for his final year of college basketball.
Rookie of the Week
Ahmad Henderson II, Niagara
Fr., Monee, IL, Brother Rice
Henderson has made an immediate impact on the court for the Purple Eagles, averaging 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists through two games while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from 3-point range. In his collegiate debut, the freshman guard posted 14 points and seven rebounds at Notre Dame. In his first game on Monteagle Ridge, Henderson tallied a game-high 28 points on 10-for-21 shooting, including 5-for-12 from 3-point land. The 28 points is the most by a Niagara freshman in their home debut, surpassing Juan'ya Green's 25 in 2011.
