Canisius’ Eleko and Fairfield’s Andersen Announced as Hercules Tires MAAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Award Winners

Eleko continued her torrid 2023-24 campaign, finishing the week averaging a double-double across two games with 15.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. In the Golden Griffins win over Marist, Eleko collected 15 points, 14 rebounds and two assists. Against Youngstown State, Eleko had 16 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks to complete Canisius' 16 point comeback win and secure their fifth straight victory. Her sixth and seventh double-doubles also lead the MAAC and rank top-15 in the nation.

Andersen poured in a career-high 26 points while filling out the stat sheet with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in the win over Manhattan. Andersen scored those 26 points against a team that was averaging just 44 points against for the year. She went 9-for-16 from the field and 3-for-6 from long-range.
 
The 2023-24 campaign culminates with the 2024 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 12-16 at Atlantic City's Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall for the fifth consecutive year dating back to 2020.
